Elliot M. Schaktman

Mr. Schaktman is a graduate of Brooklyn College. Following his graduation from Brooklyn Law School in 1981, Mr. Schaktman worked an in-house counsel for Interboro Mutual Indemnity Insurance Company for 8 years before starting his own plaintiffs practice.

Representing accident victims, he also served as “of counsel” to Brecher Fishman for several years, and then joined the firm as a full time associate in 2000. Mr. Schaktman continues to handle a wide variety of personal injury cases, including construction, premises, trip and fall and motor vehicle. Mr. Schaktman is experienced in all aspects of uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. He is licensed in both New York and New Jersey and runs the New Jersey office, handling the majority of the firm’s New Jersey cases.

Since April 2006, he has been running the firm’s negligence Intake Department, evaluating every new potential negligence case. Mr. Schaktman has recently become the firm’s newest partner in the personal injury department.
